It’s a small European city with all of the quaintness of European holidaying but without the big dollar spending, let’s talk a little bit about Pristina.

Blast to the Past

Pristina has a history that stretches back to ancient times. Initially inhabited by the Illyrians, the city later came under Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman influence. Each period left its mark on the city’s culture, architecture, and traditions. The Ottoman era, in particular, played a significant role in shaping Pristina’s historical and cultural landscape, introducing many of the Islamic influences that are still visible today.

In the late 20th century, Pristina became the focal point of Kosovo’s struggle for independence, ultimately leading to the declaration of independence from Serbia in 2008. This pivotal moment in history transformed Pristina into the political and cultural heart of the newly established Republic of Kosovo.
